Water, Glycerin, Citrullus Lanatus (Watermelon) Fruit Extract
- This ingredient is a highly purified Citrullus lanatus extract from a species whose origins lie in the Kalahari Desert. It helps prevent DNA damage in skin cells in two ways: by preventing direct damage from UV light and by inhibiting the release of free radicals induced by UV light.
- In vitro:
- DNA protection against UV damage and damage induced by free radicals
- Prevention of DNA Fragmentation: protection of DNA nucleotides from oxidation processes
- In vivo:
- Improvement of the protective effect on UV irradiations: 25% increase in skin protection and 60% if volunteers perceived a protective effect
