- Everlasting ECO is a COSMOS certified organic ingredient harvested from the helichrysum stoechas, an organic crop native to Spain and Portugal and acts as an anti-aging, antioxidant, and protective agent when formulated into cosmetic products.
- The antioxidant effect is achieved through flavonoids that work to inhibit enzymatic and non-enzymatic lipid peroxidation. These flavonoids scavenge aging-inducing free radicals and inhibit oxidases thus preventing the in vivo formation of reactive oxygen species and organic hydroperoxide.
- Flavonoids and acetophenones play the major cosmetic antioxidant role in this extract, protecting both skin and hair.
- Other Everlasting ECO properties beneficial to cosmetic formulations include antimicrobial and purifying actions, due to essential oils present, and photo protection from the range of phenol compounds.
